Event Abstract:

DKMS BMST Foundation India is a non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and other blood disorders, such as thalassemia and aplastic anaemia. Their aim is to improve the situation of patients suffering from blood cancer and other blood disorders in India and throughout the world, by raising awareness about blood stem cell transplantation and registering potential blood stem cell donors. This seminar was held to make the students aware about Blood Stem Cell Donation.

Overall Layout of the Event:

The event was started by welcoming our guest speakers from DKMS BMST Ms. Resham Ghosh and Ms. Nandini Sarkar.
The speakers gave their presentation on Stem Cell Donation and about their organization and what they do. How they are beneficial to the society and how we students are also the saviours of lives in ways by becoming a potential donor.
Followed by the presentation the interested students were given the consent form and they gave samples for the HLV typing test.
The successful samples became potential donors.

Outcome of the Programme:

Through this programme, the organizers as well as the students got to know more about Blood Stem Cell Donations and its importance in saving lives of those who suffer from various blood related diseases.
