Event Abstract:

“Constitution day” also known as “National Law Day” as well as “Samvidhan Diwas” is celebrated nationwide on 26th, November. Ever since being regarded as such for the first time in the year 1949, upon the adoption of the constitution of India by the constituent assembly. The constitution finally came into effect on 26th January, 1950. This event was a small approach organized to ignite the feeling of patriotism and safety that is associated with it.

Overall layout of the programme:

The event was attended by faculty members, Dr. Tathagat Deb(host), Dr. Sadhan Kumar Dey, Arup Kumar Bhattacharjee, Dr. Sangita Aggarwal, Monika Singh. In this programme, students were asked to submit handmade, digitally created posters related to the “Constitution” or anything related to their views on the constitution of our country. NSS members as well as other students responded well by showcasing their creativity in the form of posters, reciting, singing and dancing. All the activities ultimately to praise and compliment the sovereign, secular and democratic constitution of India. On the day of the event, Dr. Tathagata Deb and Dr. Sadhan Kumar Dey gave us a brief but extremely useful insights about the constitution and how we can make use of it to better ourselves and everyone around us. With this, the event came to an end.

Outcome of the Programme:

Through this programme, the organizers as well as the students got to know more about India’s Constitution and to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India.
